The storm two nights ago

Sorry I am late on this, but honestly I missed most of the excitement being at work till late. Here is the synopsis, round one came through 5-ish (went north towards IOP), then another 7-ish (maybe, was still sunny on JI) and then the bigger one at 9-ish. The last one went more south towards Kiawah. Anyways, here is the story in pictures:

Josh Marthers (my favorite, on NBC) is starting to get excited.

Bill Walsh sees it coming and is getting a bit worried (and he might miss NCIS).

The storm came, and here is the hail in the yard, almost 2 hours after the fact, pretty impressive.

Update on Last weeks Storm

(This is a picture after the second wave showing reformation of the storm on the back-side)
So, after the second round of storms came through, we went looking for floods. Apparently tide as low, and downtown didn't get too much rain, though JI did. Here you can see the infamous JI Town Hall in the background.

And here is a nice sunset picture:

How to be safe on folly

So, yesterday afternoon round 2 of storms came through. Amazingly, some of the weather guys were still up from the morning. It was like a weather binge for them. My favorite, Josh, was noticeably tired, but could still summon the unnecessary excitement for storm cells and the latest VIPER gadgetry. These storms actually messed up some places on Johns Island pretty bad. Funny, the worst of the storm came right down our street again. Farther down towards the beach, my friend Mike who just moved to Folly figured it was as good of an idea as any to be at the boat dock for the severe weather seeing how he didn't really have a basement being 20 feet up and all. Makes sense since that way you can at least see whats coming at you. These pics are from him (note all the policemen who had the same bright idea):

Weather men gone wild

Woke up this morning at 5 to some crazy lights. Either it was 'close encounters of the third kind', or some tornadic activity. Aside from a serious weather system moving through, only a couple blocks from my house on JI, it was time for the local weather boys to shine. They apparently have been all over the air since 3 AM (its easier to take over from low-end early morning programing). The highlight was Brian Goode on ABC, who was a bit more level headed than the others, but he was sporting his lightning tie. Now, the other guys were great, don't get me wrong. My favorite over caffinated coffee junky, Bill Walsh, wasn't even allowed on TV, though his half asleep voice comforted viewers from off-scree. And of course, the most exciting folks were over at NBC (those guys love some weather, and especially those alarms). So, if for some reason, anyone is paying attention to this blog and either has pics of Brian's tie, or more importantly some flooded activity, please post em up. Back to sleep.
